Yes! I have represented many individuals who suffered severe back or leg injuries while at work.
The Act provides that an injured worker may receive reasonable and necessary medical care. This includes “orthopedic devices” as recommended by a doctor and may include a car or van modified for the disability, moving to a new home, electric wheelchairs, stair glides or other similar devices.
I have successfully represented individuals who needed a home spa, a mini-van with an electric ramp and even a new home with an elevator and ramps. There are very few limits to what medical devices can be obtained to assist injured workers who truly need them.
